The 2025 Agency Revolution Summer Summit

Every year, Agency Revolution hosts our annual Summer Summit. If you did not know, our team is fully remote, and we enjoy getting together to reconnect and collaborate on the year before and the year ahead.

Our theme this year was Be Different Because We Can, and as you’ll see, that set the stage for how we come together as a team to make an impact on the insurance industry.

This year, our adventures took us to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with team members traveling in from numerous states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, Ohio, and Utah (just to name a few). We had a ton of fun, and I truly enjoy getting to meet the people at our company that I usually only see through online meetings in our day-to-day.

Here’s a glimpse into the stories and adventures we experienced during the 2025 Agency Revolution Summer Summit.

Our first activity of the Summer Summit involved an early morning bus and a boat. Our team gathered for a bus ride from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to our destination in Hoboken, New Jersey. When we arrived, we took the opportunity to take some group photos before we boarded the boat. As we chatted with each other, we took in the sights of New York City and even got up close and personal with the Statue of Liberty.

If a boat trip wasn’t enough, our team gathered in the evening to enjoy the food and music at Musikfest in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. As I quickly found out from the team who live locally to the area, this is the largest free music festival and with good reason. We spent over 3 hours at the event and still didn’t see everything. If you haven’t been before, coming from Columbus, Ohio, myself, I would highly recommend it (and the ice cream I got)!

Meeting to make a difference.

Every year at our Summer Summit, I take time before the event to come up with a theme. This year’s theme was: Be Different Because We Can. I kicked off the meeting with a personal story from me. And if you’ve heard me speak on a webinar or at an event before, you might know my “Edamame Guy” story.

The short version: My first experience eating edamame was at a business meeting with an insurance carrier who won’t let me live down the fact that I unknowingly ate the scraps of edamame at the table. PS: if you want to hear the full story, check it out in this webinar recording!

That’s the story I led with here, and while the majority of my team knows that story, I used it as a point to share something about myself that makes me, well…me!

I then brought up a slide that said, “What Makes Agency Revolution Different?” A simple question, but with a lot of answers. I went around the room and listened to how the team would answer this. In a stunning reveal, I turned to a slide with photos of our team. I then tied in the theme by sharing fun facts I learned about everyone on the team while talking on the boat the day before.

To me, as President of Agency Revolution, I believe that what truly makes us different is beyond the technology solutions we offer; it’s about the team that makes us who we are.

And if you’ve ever worked with us or spoken to our team before, I guarantee you’ll know exactly what I mean.

To cap off the AR Summer Summit, what better way than a hibachi dinner? We reserved 3 tables to fit our team of 60+ people, and lots of fun conversations, food, and of course, edamame, were enjoyed. It was a great way to end the event, share stories, make new memories, and say our goodbyes before returning home.

Reflections after the Summer Summit.

Looking back at last week’s Summer Summit, I am reminded of the power of personality that each of our team members brings to the table. Whether they are working on the frontlines of sales or support, or behind the scenes making our platform be all it can be, Agency Revolution is different because of our team, which sets us apart.

While some aspects of business can be recreated, the human side of our business is irreplaceable.

I encourage you to look at your own business in the insurance space. Whether you have a small insurance agency or you run a larger, established business in the space, I guarantee there are stories you can share to show the personal side of what you do. Because, as I’ve come to learn, the insurance industry is less about policies and more about people and relationships.

Use the platforms available to you to tell those stories, differentiate yourself in the market, and highlight the team that sets you apart through blogs, videos, social posts, emails, and more. Get your story out there, and continue to emphasize the human side of your business.
